Language
Reka region is located in western-central edge of Macedonia.
It is situated in the beginning of the highest mountain,(Korab, 2.751 m), of the Macedonia and of the west of the Balkans.
Natural resources
This region offers attractive mountain massifs such as: Bistra, Shar Planina, Stogovo, Deshat, Suva Gora, with more then 52 peaks with altitude over 2000m.
In the territory it is found the largest national park of the Macedonia, with 73,00 hectares of extension. The National Park Mavrovo the sole place of the Republic where find themselves 12 rare species of plants and other 33 species of plants that rarely of find in the remainder of the country. The fauna represented with 12 species of fish, 12 species of reptiles, 140 types of birds, 38 types of mammals (among which the bear, the lynx the chamois and the deer).
Hydrography
The main one run of water of this territory is the river Radika and its affluents. Radika separates the mountains Bistra, Korab and Šar and represents a torrent clear water and rich of an endemic trout especially appreciated in the Country. The river goes from the middle part and southern of the territory creating a spectacular valley characterized from splendid landscapes and excellent points for the sporty fishing. In the territory there are different glacial lakes of whom 14 persisting (on the mountain Desat there are 5 glacial drags, to Korab 8 and on the mountain one Sar). The lowest one between them is the lake Lokuv to Desat that it is found to a height of 1,565 m, while the highest lake is found under the top Golem Korab to a height of 2470m.

Many of these villages have been abandoned for the great cities as Gostivar, Tetovo, Skopje etc...
Now the people goes to pass the summer vacations and those winter in the immense tracks from ski of the mountain Bistra.
